Revised Enforcement Sanctions Policy

The enforcement sanctions policy has been updated.

This guide sets out what action DVSA examiners might take when they find offences during roadside checks.

They can issue:

  • warnings
  • prohibition notices
  • fixed penalties.

The revisions

The changes include:

  • additional information on offence numbers for annex 1C smart tachograph
  • the tachograph section being split between EU and International Road Transport (AETR) rules.
