Sunswap winning awards
Cold Chain Federation member Sunswap has been making waves in the transport refrigeration industry with its innovative zero-emission technology, Endurance. Founded in 2020, the company has been on a mission to decarbonise the global cold chain by offering a sustainable and commercially viable alternative to traditional diesel-powered refrigeration.
Recently, Sunswap’s efforts have been recognised by several prestigious organisations, highlighting the significance of their work and the potential impact of their technology on the industry and the environment.
The most recent was the award for Transport, Logistics and Supply Chain at Innovation Zero. These awards showcase groundbreaking technologies aimed at reducing the carbon footprint of industries across the UK. Given the event’s focus on UK companies and the support of the UK Government Department for Energy Security and Net Zero, it serves as a reminder that Sunswap is proud to be designed and manufactured in the UK.
Sunswap’s Endurance was recognised as a mature solution ready to transform the cold chain industry. The award highlighted the success of introducing Endurance in over 22 customer fleets and demonstrating its ability to meet operational needs while delivering zero emissions and financial benefits.
Sunswap was also featured in the inaugural UKII Intelligent Report. The report highlights the UK’s top 500 innovative companies shaping the future across all industries. This recognition underscores Sunswap’s progress to make a significant impact in refrigeration, which currently accounts for 2-4% of the UK’s total greenhouse gas emissions.
The team at Sunswap were also delighted to be awarded Cold Chain Federation’s second annual Climate Summit, where the company was awarded the Technology Breakthrough – Innovation of the Year award. Phil Pluck, CEO of the Federation noted the the potential of Sunswap’s battery and solar-powered transport refrigeration technology to decarbonise the cold chain industry.
Michael Lowe, CEO and co-founder of Sunswap commented, “We are thrilled to receive these recognitions. These awards not only validate the hard work and dedication of our team but also highlight the importance of sustainable solutions in the transport refrigeration industry. We believe that our technology has the potential to make a real difference in the fight against climate change, and this only reinforces our commitment to driving the adoption of zero-emission solutions in the cold chain logistics sector.”
The recognition Sunswap has received from industry-specific and innovation-focused organisations is a testament to the company’s work in developing sustainable transport refrigeration solutions.
The demand for environmentally friendly alternatives continues to grow. Sunswap is well-positioned to lead the charge in decarbonising the cold chain, both in the UK and beyond.
