Lineage Logistics Peterborough Successfully Live with new Future-proof WMS
At the end of last year Cold Chain Federation member Lineage Logistics celebrated the successful go-live of their new warehouse management system for their site in Peterborough. This makes Peterborough the first Lineage site in the United Kingdom to be supported by the branch standard solution provided by Cold Chain Federation Associate member Mercurius IT, and its Dutch partner Boltrics. The software solution, 3PL Dynamics, is specifically designed for cold storage logistics. It will help Lineage Peterborough optimise the efficiency in their processes and increase the service level towards their customers.
Lineage Logistics standardises WMS for Europe
As the world’s largest cold storage provider, Lineage Logistics recently decided that 3PL Dynamics will be the standard WMS for all its sites in Europe. Following this decision, implementations take place all over Europe via Boltrics’ trusted network of international partners.
‘It is beneficial for us that 3PL Dynamics is internationally implemented by local partners,’ says Peter Bryssinck, Business Integration Manager at Lineage Europe. ‘These partners are really good connected to Boltrics, follow the same philosophy, and know exactly how to set up the WMS.’
As a partner, Mercurius IT successfully implemented this first site in the UK and will foresee all future implementations of Lineage Logistics on this side of the canal.
Functionalities specifically for cold storage
With the new WMS, Lineage Peterborough is set for the future. The always up-to-date solution Mercurius IT delivers will make sure their processes are continuously supported by the latest Microsoft Technology, and they can always benefit from the newest functionalities in the branch standard.
Elise Ramsden, Lineage Project Manager: ‘After this successful implementation, we do not only follow the path of Lineage Europe. We can also trust on functionalities from the cold storage industry. Quality checks, expiration dates, classifications. All kinds of fields and functionalities we use in our processes which are very specific for cold storage logistics were already available in the software. Now, we can easily trace all goods in our warehouse and match all of our customer requirements.’
‘On to the next!’
After the successful project with Lineage Logistics Peterborough, Mercurius IT is already preparing the next Lineage-site in the UK for implementation.
‘We are confident in the team who implements our sites in the United Kingdom,’ concludes Peter Bryssinck. ‘The collaboration between Mercurius IT and our own implementation team has proven to be successful and will be a strong foundation for future projects. On to the next, I would say!’
