Hultsteins joined the Cold Chain Federation in August 2019, they are a manufacturer of Diesel-Free Transport Refrigeration Systems & Hybrid Drive Solution – Ecogen. We thought it would be interesting to find out a little more about their manufacturing solution & who to talk too.

Stephen is the UK Sales Director for Hultsteins and founder of Cold Connect (acquired by Hultsteins in 2019) Inventor of Ecogen hydraulic generator.

Q. Why is it important to be a part of the Cold Chain Federation?

Hultsteins work with the CCF because they have the operators’ needs at the heart of their organisation and as the ‘voice’ of the industry, they have the credibility to influence political bodies and the industry at large regarding operator and technical issues of the day.

Q. What are Hultstein’s aspirations for the industry?

Using diesel-free refrigeration it is now possible to cut harmful emissions and make life better for our drivers and everybody around them. Hultsteins’ systems ensure Euro 6 Emission standard is met for the cooling system as well as the truck and by retrofitting an Ecogen electric generator to any vehicle with an engine-drive PTO the diesel fridge engine is  effectively switched off  during transit. This is where environmental considerations and commercial efficiency meet and our aspiration is to help all operators improve their bottom line while making a positive contribution to the environment.
