Learn about the contribution of ammonia pioneers at the IOR historical talk on 3rd November
Travel back in time and find out more about the early pioneers of Ammonia Refrigeration at the IOR’s historical TechTalk which will be held online on 3rd November.
Participants will hear about the likes of David and James Boyle along with Francis de Coppet and John Beath and how they revolutionised the sector with a series of notable “firsts”.
The talk will be given by Dr Andy Pearson FInstR and Bernard Nagengast as part of the 123rd-anniversary celebration of the founding of the Institute of Refrigeration. The talk and paper provide a thorough account of the life and times of the characters involved in the early development of ammonia refrigeration. The event also marks the 150th Anniversary of what is generally considered the first ammonia refrigeration system using vapour compression.
This event is being co-hosted by the International Institute of Ammonia Refrigeration and is one of the first technical collaborations between the IOR in the UK and the IIAR who signed a Memorandum of Understanding earlier this year. Bookings for the talk are now open at www.ior.org.uk/150-years-of-ammonia-refrigeration
