5 Minutes with Cold Chain Federation Member Hemsec
We were delighted when Hemsec joined the Federation in September 2022 and we are looking forward to working with them over the course of 2023. Here we find out more about Phil Montgomery and Hemsec.
Q. Who is the main person for members to contact?
Phil Montgomery, is the Account Manager for Steel Insulated Panels at Hemsec.
Q. What do they do and contact details?
Phil is responsible for looking after our key accounts at Hemsec. Phil has worked at Hemsec for a number of years and has supported our customers in a range of industries that utilise insulated panels in their cold storage and food processing projects.
Phil can be contacted by email phil.montgomery@hemsec.com or by phone 0151 426 7171.
Q. Why is it important to be a part of the Cold Chain Federation?
With businesses across the UK cold chain facing more challenges than ever with inflation, soaring energy costs, energy insecurity and concerns around climate change and sustainability, it is key for Hemsec to be a part of a federation that is looking to support its members through these challenges and provide the industry with a voice.
Hemsec looks forward to collaborating with the Cold Chain Federation and its members to support the challenge of operating using less energy and building robust energy strategies.
Q. What are Hemsec’s aspirations for the industry?
Temperature-controlled cold stores and clean rooms being designed and installed today in the UK now need to be resilient enough to perform in temperatures of over 40 degrees heat. It is predicted that the cold chain will grow significantly due to both population growth and the need to keep vaccines at very specific temperatures.
We believe the construction material should be the first consideration when looking at energy strategies and constructing temperature or hygiene-controlled environments. With over 90 years of experience in the industry, Hemsec’s steel faced insulated panels have a high thermal performance and airtight joints which provide a structure to limit heat transfer, prevent air movement and help to ensure humidity and air quality levels are consistent.
We aspire to collaborate with other organisations in the industry to support and overcome future challenges, whilst supporting them to save money, reduce energy costs and create more efficient temperature or hygiene-controlled environments.
