5 Minutes with Cold Chain Federation Member Eastpac Group

We welcomed the Eastpac Group to the Federation in September last year they are a transit packaging specialists of 30 years experience. Here we find out a bit more about Kieran and the Eastpac Group.

QWho is the main person for members to contact?

Kieran Rodger is our Business Development Manager, for Distribution and Supply Chain Clients. He had been with the company for 6 years now, and takes a keen interest in the dynamics of the modern supply chain industry. Of specific passion is the current explosive growth of distribution networks, including large fleet expansion and the increase in big shed construction projects.

He finds particular fascination in following the journey of products right from its origin, through to the consumer. The whole logistical leviathan that ticks constantly, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 52 weeks a year to keep the nation clothed, fed, and supplied is a life-long passion, and it’s this passion that has led him into the transit packaging business with a desire to make a tangible impact on the clients he works with, in the areas of cost effectiveness and operational efficiency.

Q. What do they do and contact details?

Kieran spends his time researching new client opportunities, and continues to work with each client alongside other team members during the onboarding process. He plays a key role in carrying out waste studies and analysing client operations for efficiency gains. He takes a keen interest in finding areas where modern material technology can be utilised to really drive savings in material and operational costs.

Kieran loves to be in and around big sheds, fleets of HGVs and being generally in awe of the dynamics of the industry. You’ll find him at his happiest in the centre of the biggest warehouses in Europe, giving suggestions, finding ideas, and solving problems with a practical, pragmatic, hands-on approach, which makes a marked positive difference in the operations of our clients.

Q. Why is it important to be a part of the Cold Chain Federation?

The Cold Chain Federation is important to us at Eastpac, as it represents a coming together of experienced industry members, who are all committed to improving the sector and initiating change for the better. We feel as though we fit in with this mindset, as it reflects our own vision for our clients.

It’s when you get a group of people like this, committed to making a difference, that real change for the better can happen. And to us as an affiliate member of the cold chain federation, this means that the people we speak to are already looking for improvements, instead of putting up resistance on the basis on unfamiliarity; and this is a mindset we sincerely applaud. Improvements cannot happen without change, and our whole mission at Eastpac is to deliver tangible improvements to our clients operations.

Q. What are Eastpac’s aspirations for the industry?

All of us at Eastpac Group want to see the cold chain and supply chain industries become the most sustainable, efficient, and reliable networks in the UK economy. This is why we focus each of our product lines on our central mission of reducing Waste, Costs, and Time for our clients. We aspire to work hand-in-hand with members, finding solutions for real-life issues at the coal-face of the industry; that is, on the factory floors, in the despatch areas, on the loading bays, and in the warehouse; right where it’s needed most.
