Carrier Transicold’s Service Partner Network Strengthens After Significant New Investment
Two of Carrier Transicold’s longest serving network service partners have relocated to improved facilities, in a drive to ensure customers have access to the most modern and well-equipped dealerships, situated in the most convenient locations. Cold Chain Federation member Carrier Transicold is a part of Carrier Global Corporation (NYSE: CARR), a leading global provider of healthy, safe and sustainable building and cold chain solutions.
Leading the investment, Robson Refrigeration, which trades as Carrier Transicold East & North Yorkshire, has spent more than £1 million on a new 12,000 sq. ft. workshop near Hull, which is four times larger than its previous site and based close to the Humber Bridge and A63, which links Leeds and Hull.
It has also taken delivery of the first two of five new service vans for its mobile engineers planned this year, recruited additional support staff and taken on a new engineering apprentice to bolster its team.
“We have been planning this move for a number of years to help us meet the demands of our growing customer base,” said Colin Robson, Managing Director, Robson Refrigeration. “This gives us the space we need to accelerate our growth and take full advantage of the opportunities available to us with Carrier.
“We believe the decisions we’ve made with this new facility truly underline our commitment to Carrier Transicold. This workshop will help us deliver a step up in performance for our customers, along with a safe, efficient, and temperature-controlled working environment for our team. We’re confident it will more than meet the demands of both Carrier’s current, and next generation of products.”
Elsewhere in the network, CB Transport Refrigeration, which trades as Carrier Transicold Northwest, East Midlands & West Midlands, has relocated its East Midlands base to a modern new facility in Northampton.
“We’ve been working with Carrier since 1985 and our relationship is as close as it has ever been,” said Kevin Collins, Managing Director, CB Transport Refrigeration. “We’re always looking at ways to improve, and this move has certainly helped achieve that. Our East Midlands operation now enjoys a much more convenient location with easy access to the M1, which means we can support customers much more efficiently.”
Celebrating its 40th anniversary in 2021, the business currently employs a workforce of 60, including 34 mobile engineers. The company has also welcomed three new apprentice engineers, reinforcing its commitment to the future of the industry.
Based in 22 key locations across the UK, Carrier Transicold’s network of 12 independent service partners provide support to customers operating Carrier Transicold equipment. They collectively employ more than 170 mobile service engineers.
