Virtual Fleet Forum

The operation of commercial vehicles creates risk at any time, but how does that risk change when those vehicles are being operated in privately owned locations? This form of activity, often called ‘yard shunting’, may be undertaken by drivers with different skills and qualifications from normal road going operations. It often raises questions around the legal implications and health and safety responsibility, and has its own specific risks that operators need to think about and plan for.

Join Cold Chain Federation member Marsh and leading law firm Keoghs on 10 October 2023 for an interactive discussion with your peers, on the key risks and issues to consider when managing the movement of commercial vehicles around yards and other closed premises. Topics include:

  • The law, and the potential consequences of an incident.
  • How to respond to and manage regulatory visits following an incident.
  • Q&A session.

ur fleet forums are part of a Marsh invite-only programme with the objective to build a community to share points of view, risk and insurance best practices, and trends in the industry. Register here.

We look forward to a thought-provoking discussion with a Q&A at the end of the session.
