Transaid grows board with new trustee appointments
International development organisation Transaid is welcoming three new Trustees to its board this month, following two earlier appointments made in February and March. This sees the board grow to 14 members in Transaid’s 25th anniversary year, each bringing a wealth of industry experience and knowledge.
Three of the new appointments replace long-standing trustees who have stepped down, whilst two additional members have been taken on to bolster the board’s combined skills-base.
The five new trustees this year include Astrid van der Burgt, Head of Road Safety at Holcim, a Swiss-French multinational that manufactures building materials; Paul Milner, previously a Managing Director with Samworth Brothers and now Director of his own consultancy; Phil Kamutenga, who is based in Dar es Salaam and heads up JSI’s operations in Tanzania; Philip Roe, recently retired as Chief Customer Officer and Strategy Director UK for DHL Supply Chain and current President of Logistics UK; and Sharn Samra, a Global Marketing Director for Shell’s Commercial Road Transport division.

The new trustees join fellow board members Alan Hunt, Bill Howie, Gavin Williams, James Keeler, Julia Bunting, Maeve Magner, Olive Kobusingye and Phidelia Mwaba.
