ProGreen Team Unveiled by Prohire Limited

For the past 12 months Cold Chain Federation member Prohire Limited led by CEO, Pat Skelly has been intensively developing their own in-house expertise to support Commercial Vehicle operators looking to make the move to alternative fuel vehicles, and this has culminated with the recent formation of the ProGreen team which is part of the Prohire Group of companies, one of the leading contract hire and fleet management providers within the UK commercial vehicle sector.

With the recent announcement by the Government to end the sale of Petrol and Diesel engine powered cars and vans by 2030, along with the ever-increasing demand of both existing and new clients wanting to understand more about not just Electric vehicles but about the truly viable alternative fuels that are out there, it was vitally important for our business to put together a team of specialists from a number of disciplines says ‘Skelly’.

Over the past 12 months Prohire has had a number of successes with securing Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) Contract Hire orders across a number of sectors, but very quickly realised that the discussion around the vehicle itself should come way down the list when providing consultative advice to operators wanting to transition to alternative fuels and, to electric.

The business will provide advice on all key areas such as site power availability, charging infrastructure and will also conduct an Electric Vehicle Sustainability Appraisal to determine what routes lend themselves to the switch from ICE to BEV. In addition to its own internal capability, Prohire has formed strategic partnerships with highly respected suppliers within the BEV tech sector. ProGreen will be announcing more on this as well as additional exciting developments in the coming weeks.

It is the objective of the ProGreen team to be the most trusted and knowledgeable providers of electric vehicles including cars, vans and heavy goods vehicles within the UK and as part of its communications strategy the business has its own YouTube channel called ‘Prohire TRUCKTV’ where Pat Skelly, CEO showcases a whole host of available vehicles that you can take on contract hire today. However, it must be said that the ProGreen team will make it very clear to those they are consulting with, what route is suitable for electrification due to battery range or other factors. ProGreen will then assist the operator to adapt the way that they operate so that going green is a serious route they are able to take.

Services being provided by ProGreen already extends well beyond the vehicle itself and includes Intelligent charging solutions, vehicle deliveries on bespoke Prohire vehicles, vehicle and charger handovers, on-site maintenance, and finally driver training to ensure that the optimum battery range is being achieved and that drivers are suitably qualified to drive uprated electric vehicles with a gross vehicle weight above 3.5t. In short, the dream of full connectivity is here under one roof – Single Source Expertise.

Putting it quite simply “Moving into the new world of alternative fuels is more than just ‘acquiring vehicles’, there are many considerations to be made and actions to be taken before this can happen”, and the ProGreen team are here to help anyone that is interested in making the transition.
