Oakland International Named Amongst Midlands’ 100 Fastest Growing Companies

Total supply chain solution provider and Cold Chain Federation member Oakland International has been confirmed as one of the Midlands 100 fastest growing companies.

Insider’s Growth 100 index ranks 100 of the fastest-growing companies who have a registered office in the region and amongst several other factors have increased turnover by more than 18 per cent annually over a four-year period and focusing on companies demonstrating growth in the last year and with over £1m turnover in the first year.

Oakland International Co-Founder and Group CEO Dean Attwell stated: “We are delighted to be recognised as a Top 100 growth business in the Midlands. Oakland has invested heavily in new facilities and new channels of distribution including internet fulfilment which has delivered strong growth during the pandemic especially. Our core business has grown substantially over the years with customers tuning into the opportunities of a single-source solution for multi-temperature and multi-channel supply chain.”

An environmentally minded temperature-controlled international supply chain solution provider, Oakland International is BRCGS AA rated and operates 24-hours/7 days a week, a D2C/B2C/B2B specialist in contract packing, storage, picking, food distribution and a brand development support provider for ambient, chilled, and frozen food to the retail, convenience, discount, wholesale and food service markets in the UK, Ireland and via their partner in Spain.

With companies on the list described as remarkable, resilient and reliable, Redditch located Oakland International is ranked 92nd with 18.84% compound annual growth, a turnover of £38.2m and pre-tax profit of £2.4m. Since launching in 1998, the company has grown significantly to a group of businesses which expect to break the £100m turnover by the end of 2022 through core activities which encompass supply chain and product consolidation, transport and customs clearance.

Added Dean: “Maintaining margin is a constant challenge as we face rising cost pressures and a competitive market; we are challenging ourselves to drive further efficiencies and marginal gains throughout our business with initiatives ranging from robotics, process re-engineering and marginal gains from investments in renewable energy and improved energy efficiency, waste reduction and transport optimisation.

“Oakland is positioned for further rapid growth in the UK and Ireland through core business models and new initiatives which are intentionally disruptive in the business-to-business multi-temperature parcel delivery arena.”
