Q. What do they do and contact details?

Tritax is the UK’s largest listed investor in large-scale Industrial and Logistics big boxes in the UK and we have a number of cold stores within our portfolio. We also own the UK’s largest logistics focused land platform, spanning c.40 million sq ft across 24 schemes nationwide, which are actively helping to address the current shortage of cold stores.

Q. Why is it important to be a part of the Cold Chain Federation?

Tritax works with a number of the leading food businesses in the UK, many of whom are members of the Cold Chain Federation. Our membership gives us an insight into the key challenges being faced by our customers and the wider industry and ensure the sites we own and develop meet both the immediate and longer term requirements of the key cold chain operators.

Q. What are Tritax’s aspirations for the industry?

The pandemic has shone a light on the critical role the Cold Chain operators play in the UK’s food supply chain. We want to ensure the industry has access to modern, purpose built, engaging working environments which attract and retain the best talent to our sector. ESG is an integrated part of Tritax’s approach as we focus on embedding sustainability initiatives that will be more energy efficient and reduce our reliance on fossil fuels. We have therefore committed to ensuring all our new sites are net zero carbon in construction and include solar PV, rainwater harvesting and electric vehicle charging in our base build specification.
