More Krone Trailers for Howard Tenens Logistics
A leading independent logistics provider has invested in new Cold Chain Federation member Krone trailers as it expands its container operations.
Established in 1953, Howard Tenens Logistics is one of the largest independently owned and operated logistics companies in the UK. The company has developed long term relationships in sectors such as retail, FMCG, automotive, and packaging. Based in Stroud, it has 20 facilities covering England and Wales, operating more than 220 vehicles and over 350 trailers.
Howard Tenens Logistics has invested in new Krone Box Liner FS10 skeletal trailers in response to growth in its container logistics business.
Alan Pellow, National Fleet and Compliance Manager for Howard Tenens Logistics, said: “We have seen significant growth in the number of enquiries for port logistics contracts. The pandemic and Brexit have created a lot of opportunities, typically for three to five-year contracts.
“We rented some trailers initially to meet this demand but ultimately decided to buy some more as that is more economical in the long term. The Krone trailers came highly recommended by some friends of mine who work in logistics. We asked Krone to quote, and they were very competitive on price.”
The FS10 uses a flat chassis configuration with a sliding bogie for carrying 20ft, 30ft, 40ft and 45ft containers. Krone container chassis are designed to be durable and versatile, with features including fold-out and retractable container locks, as well as extendable under-run protection. They come with a 10-year guarantee against corrosion perforation.
“Our drivers absolutely love them,” added Alan. “The decals and instructions are really easy to understand and follow. We were also impressed with the paint finish.”
The Krone trailers are manufactured by Krone in Germany, with Krone UK providing nationwide product support and aftersales care throughout Britain. Krone offers a comprehensive range of trailers including container chassis, curtainsider, refrigerated semi, and dry freight box. For further details, visit www.krone-trailer.com.
