Hemsec SIPs Panels Achieve New Fire Resistance Tests to BS EN 1365-1:2012.
Following significant investment Cold Chain Federation member Hemsec is excited to announce that their SIPs panels have successfully passed new, more stringent fire resistance testing to BS EN 1365-1:2012, achieving FR30 and upgrading their FR60 rating for residential applications. Hemsec made the decision to upgrade their fire resistance testing from BS476 pt21 achieving REI30 and REI 60 respectively. This milestone supports Hemsec’s commitment to providing superior insulated panel performance, enhancing safety and design flexibility for their customers.
The certification marks a significant advancement in fire safety and design flexibility for residential SIPs buildings. The Hemsec Structural Insulated Panels (SIPs) now offer FR30 fire resistance, allowing builders and developers to meet fire specifications using standard 12mm Gypsum board. This not only enhances safety and performance but also offers the opportunity to reduce costs for construction projects.
Key Benefits of Hemsec SIPs Include:
– Enhanced Fire Resistance Performance: Achieving both FR30 and an improved FR60 rating, our panels offer protection against fire.
– The ability to use standard 12mm Gypsum board in project build-ups replaces the need for costly high-spec fireline plasterboard in FR30 systems.
– Design Flexibility: With both FR30 and improved FR60 resistance, our panels provide greater choice and flexibility in design.
– Maximising Jointing Systems: Hemsec is the first to market with spline and timber build-up testing, showcasing our dedication to innovative and effective jointing solutions.
“We are thrilled to bring this enhanced level of fire resistance to our customers,” said Juliette Mullineux, Product Manager at Hemsec. “Our panels not only meet the highest safety standards but also offer design flexibility and potentially significant cost savings for residential construction projects. This achievement underscores our commitment to innovation and excellence in the building industry.”
