DFDS expands temperature-controlled network with contract win for Ardo UK

DFDS has entered into a multiyear agreement to secure the UK Logistics contract for Ardo UK. Planning and delivering their temperature-controlled goods based from the Ardo warehouse in Ashford, Kent. As part of the contract, DHL Ashford employees will transfer into DFDS and create a hub in Kent.

Of the partnership, James Ferguson, Regional Operations manager said ‘We are delighted to bring Ardo UK into our Cold Chain network. This win forms another step in our long-term development strategy by providing customers with access to a growing network with total transparency in our ways of working, IT integration and customer service. Alongside this, we look forward to welcoming our new Ashford based colleagues to DFDS.

Ardo is an internationally expanding family business with expertise in fresh-frozen vegetables, herbs, and fruits. Ardo have 17 production, packing and distribution sites in 8 countries. They produce 947,000 tonnes of plant based food per year and export to more than 100 countries worldwide.

The agreement strengthens DFDS temperature-controlled network within the UK and specifically the Southeast. Ardo UK will now benefit from DFDS’ transparent reporting systems, network strength and first-class service levels. DFDS will also provide expertise on business partnering to create further delivery efficiencies in the future to minimise cost for a growing business.
