Cranleigh Freight Services expands fleet with Krone trailers
One of South-East England’s leading logistics providers has invested in more Cold Chain Federation member Krone trailers as business continues to boom.
Cranleigh Freight Services (CFS) offers a full range of transport services to Europe. The company has added three Krone Profi Liner curtainsiders to its fleet in order to meet growing demand for its UK and European general haulage operations.
Will Porter, fleet manager at Cranleigh Freight, said: “Krone trailers have a very good name for being robust and reliable, their reputation precedes them. On top of that, Krone UK was able to offer us competitive pricing and good lead times.
“Their after-sales service has also been excellent. If we need anything our workshop manager just pings an email to Krone UK, and we get the parts within a couple of days. They haven’t missed a beat.”
The Profi Liners feature pre-galvanised components including the outer frame and corner posts, plus side and underrun protection. Offset curtain rollers in the external beam ensure smooth running of the sliding curtain, while the external beam is 30% stronger than the previous generation, significantly reducing risk of bending.
This investment follows CFS purchasing two Krone Dry Liners last year, which it uses in its events division, providing time-sensitive logistics and safe transport throughout Europe. CFS provides a comprehensive service, including full pan-European coverage, secure transit, on-site support, reverse logistics and vehicle tracking.
The latest generation of the Krone Dry Liner has a sturdy chassis thanks to diagonal frame reinforcements and can easily cope with strong starts on the ramp. Robust and reliable, they feature keyhole plates inside as standard and offer enhanced security for sensitive and valuable goods.
CFS’s Dry Liners are based on the Krone universal modular chassis, featuring an optimised welded assembly and robust bulkhead connection. For increased stability in the event of collision damage, the chassis is equipped with a raised front rail as standard, and protected lights are mounted on the diagonally reinforced, ramp-compatible rear. The trailers are made in Germany but sold and supported by Krone Trailer UK.
“The Dry Liners are ideal for transporting goods for events and tours,” added Will. “The extra anchor points on the side raves are very useful for ensuring loads are secure.”
Krone offers a comprehensive range of trailers including container chassis, curtainsider, refrigerated semi, and dry freight box. Krone Trailer UK provides sales, product support and aftersales care throughout Britain and Ireland. For further details, visit www.krone-trailer.com.
