CCF and CEBA UK agree to continue the good work of CEBA UK

The Controlled Environment Building Association (CEBA) UK committee has agreed that it is time to wind the venture up. But it is conscious that its guides have added immense value to the promotion and standards of modern temperature-controlled warehousing in the UK.

CEBA UK champions excellence in the temperature-controlled environment industry. They are a not-for-profit organisation committed to advancing standards and best practices. They have consistently supported the vital work of contractors and suppliers involved in the design, construction, and maintenance of facilities for storing and processing temperature-sensitive goods.

This valuable work must not be lost and so the Cold Chain Federation (CCF) has agreed to inherit the CEBA UK technical guides and to form a new committee to oversee their review and development. These will be reviewed and re-branded to reflect the ever-changing technical world of warehouse construction and modernisation.

Phil Pluck CEO of the CCF said ‘Whilst it is sad to see the CEBA UK brand go, I am delighted that they have tasked the CCF with the continuation of their good work. I thank the CEBA UK committee for all of their hard work and dedication to raising standards in our industry over the years and can assure them that the guides we are inheriting will be invested in to ensure they remain the benchmark guides for future temperature-controlled investments in the UK.

Tony Wall, Chair of CEBA UK said ‘ Having been Chair of the CEBA UK Executive Committee over the last 4 years we have made tremendous strides in re-writing the UK Technical Guide for the construction of temperature-controlled environments. It is with our members in mind that a unanimous decision was made by the CEBA UK Executive Committee to pass over the guides and IP to the CCF where they will benefit a far wider audience and become the go to guides for all CCF and former CEBA UK members. I would urge our existing CEBA UK members to join the CCF where opportunities to engage with the wider membership and attend the many networking functions and annual conference where they will witness the great work the CCF team carry out by working with Government and all stakeholders in the temperature-controlled environment.
