Q. Who is the main person for members to contact?
Hi! My name is Alex Moorhouse. I’m Head of Operations at Pentadel Project Management. We’ve been members of the Cold Chain Federation since 2025.
Q. What do they do and contact details?
Pentadel is a team of Architectural Designers, Engineers, Quantity Surveyors and Project and Construction Managers. We design and deliver sustainable and innovative production, processing, storage and distribution facilities. My role is to oversee all of Pentadel’s projects, be they feasibility studies, CapEx management programmes, live environment upgrades or construction projects. I love meeting new businesses – no two projects are the same – so it’s always nice to see an email or a call coming in from someone new!
To complement Pentadel’s offering, I’m also a member of the Chilled Advisory Group, so I can call on a network of specialists who share Pentadel’s passion for sustainable and innovative facility improvements for members of the CCF.

Q. Why is it important to be a part of the Cold Chain Federation?
The UK’s food industry is incredibly valuable. Not only does it sustain us, it is a huge employer and contributor to the UK’s GDP. As such, we need to innovate and grow in order to build resilience in the cold chain. The CCF provides specialists in their field with an opportunity to network and collaborate, for the future strength of the industry. At Pentadel we want to create the facilities that deliver that future. Our experience in manufacturing and distribution facility projects dovetails with the challenges faced by members of the CCF and we are able to network with some of the amazing businesses that share our passion.
Q. What are Pentadel’s aspirations for the industry?
The cold chain industry needs to keep developing. There are so many challenges from political and cultural changes, customer and regulatory expectations, technological or environmental opportunities. It takes brave leadership to invest and keep driving forwards, but we believe that that will provide the resilience and agility to create a bright and sustainable future for our industry and the people who rely on us.
