COVID-secure risk assessments: a checklist for employers

As we move into the next phase of lockdown easing, the two biggest responsibilities on your shoulders as an employer are making sure your workplace is COVID-secure and that you’ve performed your COVID-19 specific risk assessment.

The Business Secretary Alok Sharma announced last month that it is the “legal duty” of employers to keep staff and customers safe and that anyone found to be ignoring the guidance could face legal action under Health & Safety laws and even two years in prison. With this and the HSE rapidly increasing the regularity of its spot checks, putting your COVID-secure risk assessment in place has to be your number one priority.
