COLD CHAIN TRANSPORT WEEK

In this session we will focus on the latest innovations changing the way we transport temperature-controlled products. We will look at the outlook and barriers to adoption of alternatives to diesel for both HGVs and TRUs and will also be joined by a special panel of cold chain business leaders to discuss how the decarbonisation challenge is being approached in businesses across the cold chain.

Tom Southall, Policy Director, Cold Chain Federation leads the policy and advisory work of the Cold Chain Federation, the UK’s trade association for the temperature-controlled logistics industry. With a background including public sector environmental policy and private consultancy, Tom’s work at the CCF covers a wide range of policy areas including energy and climate change, food safety, health and safety and transport policy.

Alan Hunt Managing Director Schmitz Cargobull UK and Ireland

Schmitz Cargobull is Europe’s largest manufacturer of advanced refrigerated trailers. Since joining the company in 2016, Alan has focused on the latest trailer technology, which provides complete cold chain visibility, increased uptime and reduced operating costs. He also has extensive engineering experience from previous roles at Finning CAT, where he was Head of Sales for Commercial Marine and Oil & Gas.
